Thank you for glowing commentary on your visit to New Island, and hope the rest of your journey followed a similar pattern of enjoyment.

Just to put the record straight, the whole of New Island is under ownership by the New Island Conservation Trust. (Tony Chater sold to the Trust in 2005/6).

Dear SA Agulhas team,

I recently learnt through a friend of mine that SA Agulhas will have its open day again on Saturday 20.6.09 from 10.00 – 15.00.

As we would like to come aboard on that day, and even bring a friend who had been to the Antartica herself earlier this year, I was just looking for more details on your website how to find you on that day, but have not been successful.

I would very much appreciate if you could let me have this info ASAP.

Just back as ship’s surgeon from an Antarctic voyage from Ushaia to Cape town on board the barque Europa (www.barkeuropa.com) I lectured for our surgical residents on my trip and could include your excellent research on the self-operation of Dr Rogozov. Thank you very much.

Hi Dr Rosjs
could you please help me
I conceived and helped build a solid brass Sun Dial which was send to Sanae about 5 years ago
due to the annual team change I lost contact with the base
and therfore also with the sundial
could you let me know @ greg@jsigns.co.za if the Dial still stands
@ the Sanae Base ?
the team leader of the team that helped me to achieve the goal of setting up the Sundial was Beneke De Wit ( sanae 43)

wow! cant believe the entire 18 months is soon to be a distant experience, yet forever limited to the engraved memories of a human. Cape Town might be raining by the time your ship arrives, yet for the time being the fires are keeping it smog-like in most areas, depending on the “Kaapse Dokter”. Have a safe trip and bring some snow, it is almost Christmas afterall C.U.S
